I have just been introduced to Ronald Binge's marvellous music today. Much grateful, Philip Croft.

I love the music of Ronald Binge. He was Mantovani's accordion player and the trademark cascading Mantivani strings were in part attrubutal to Binges Cornet Carillion which was used extensively in the Websters Pennine Bitter adverts of the 1960's / 1970's.

If your here, I guess your a Ronald Binge fan, have a listen to his 'If you were the only Girl in the World' it's like a musical dream.

Thank you for your kind comment. In my opinion, RB had no equals, his range of involvement in music covered all aspects of the art. May I suggest you listen to his truly original arrangement of 'September in the Rain'. Unfortunately, I didn't do a good job of the title when Uploading to youtube, and it came out as 'Spetember in the Rain' by Ronald Binge and orchestra.

Ronald Binge "invented" the cascading strings effect when he worked in Mantovani's orchestra. He was a superb arranger of music and Composer. Check out his music here on Youtube, there is plenty of it. Thank you Phil, for uploading this for all to enjoy.

I hear a little bit of the orchestration in Days of Future Past by the Moody Blues coming from this orchestral arrangement on the first side of that 1967 LP

would it actually kill composers today to write music like this? I mean, would it?!
MrDaiseymay (13 years ago)
I agree with your sentiment, but this great song ( French / Hungarian calaberation) was a product of a certain period--1945 in the is case, when the greatest popular composeurs and lyricists lived in my opinion. They were true craftsmen. With a few exceptions, I don't think anyone has the ability to write poetic words to blend with musicality any more, and besides, the quick money is in pop junk, that will probably be forgotten very soon.

I've recently added Ronalds amazing interpretation of 'September in the Rain' titled 'Song'. This is from a new crisp CD issue, and very clear.
