This isn't the first time. Baylor–UNLV, 1999 - Baylor only needed to kneel and win 24–21. Baylor tried to score; Darryl Bush fumbled at the goal line, and UNLV’s Kevin Thomas returned it 99 yards for the winning touchdown.

The lack of situational awareness on that last play is embarrasing beyond comprehension. Gaffe isn't even the word; it's plays like this that people say rigged, Vegas, parlay, etc.
