Survey: New pants, what should I wear?
With this years season at an end, for next year Iām starting to get the feel that jeans are becoming a little tired. Iāve been wearing them ever since the channel began really, they are comfortable and keep my legs warm, plus jeans and bare feet are always a good look. But Iām keen on finding something else. There have been some comments too about what I should wear, but the most fair way is to ask collectively.
But first, I think you should know about a few things:
Shorts: They wonāt protect my legs safely enough. Sometimes I walk through fairly grown paths, where nettles, thistles and brambles can be an issue. I can't be wearing shorts.
Over length pants: Itās bad enough if mud or poo splatters on the jeans but the type that goes under the feet, itās just going to be a huge clean up and if anything, more like throw aways after use. I don't have the funds to be able to spend money on new pants, hence again, all the more support over on Patreon helps with that!
It must be respectful: I want to be discrete when doing my videos, not because I'm ashamed, but it's more about being respectful to others. I want to remind people that we must keep content respectful and that means I'm respectful when I'm out making these videos. I have to say any result of this poll that contravenes this this cannot be taken onboard.

Changes to Patreon benefits
This is an important announcement regarding the higher tier Patreon options for Care4Feet.
We have of course recently changed the value for money tiers so that mentions and listings of paying patrons are at the start of the video rather than the end. I feel this respects those patrons more and gives them more prominence, rather than being shoved right to the back so to speak. We also list the names in the details of the video.
However there is another change we need to talk about and itās important:
It is a difficult decision, but I regret to say that we have removed the request option from all top tier packages. No-one invested into these tiers of support so no-one has been affected by these changes.
The reason for this decision is not because people are making requests, I welcome any request that people make on the channel to improve and diversify content, but of course, at the time the requests option was a feature of higher tier, we would have welcomed your support in order to make that possible. The truth is, I can no longer reliably produce videos in a time frame that would make that package fair on the patron.
For example, If someone is paying $50 a month for a tier that includes the monthly video request and I canāt make it for 3 months, say maybe there's no rain for so long that there's no mud, theyāve paid $150 and either theyāre going to be furious that theyāve invested and Iāve not made the videos, or, Iām going to be pressured into making 3 videos in short succession to make up for it. If I had 10 people doing that in this situation, Iād have to go out every single day for a month just to catch up.
This video request feature, as nice as it was, did not reflect how Iām able to film my videos. If you are thinking that I can just go out when I want and make videos in mud or poo, it doesnāt work like that. I canāt just go on any given day and make a video. I have to follow what nature and luck provides me and as you saw with the cow dung videos, there was a good 2-3 year gap at one point. Even with the mud, well thatās been nearly a year since Iāve found good mud to play in.
And there is no wriggle room here. It seems that people donāt really watch anything else other than mud and poo videos on the channel, so that really limits what Iām able to do. I tried making other content in the hopes of filling the space between, but doing that resulted in subscriber loss and the performance of those videos still sits well below average. Even the 3 hours barefoot hike I did during the early summer, has about 500 views last time I checked. Compare that to the first cow dung video I did recently that got double those views in less than 2 days.
Itās better for me to remove the request feature from the high tier Patreon options and just say openly, I regret that I'm not able to meet your expectations to make specific video requests a possibility.
Instead, requests will be dealt with in a more āglobalā way so to speak, I want to continue using the polls feature here on YouTube which has proved a good way to communicate to everyone.
Iām very sorry about this change and hope you can understand why the change is being made. It is fairer for you and I think there are better ways to handle requests than making promises I canāt make, for reasons out of my control.
Reddit
I never really posted about this because I didn't think it was important, but let's just get it out of the way.
So I was for a time, using Reddit until about 6 months ago, when my account was permanently banned from the site. In response, I can now confirm that I have destroyed all of my reddit content, contributions and comments from the site and subreddits and will never use it again at any point in the future.
My experience with Reddit was terrible, tyrant power tripped moderators, rage bait, just a really unhealthy, toxic cesspool of bad energy. Anybody can say anything and you cannot trust anything anyone says on there. I wasted so much time on that platform so Iām glad to have nothing to do with it any more. Iām glad to have my life back!
I have since those last 6 months, focused entirely on the YouTube channel, including text comments in my videos that do the job of communicating to you better than Reddit posts ever did. Iām glad as ever, to have all of your support!
I suspect there will be a decrease in subscriber numbers in the coming period, as less people stumble on my old Reddit posts which politely pushed them to this channel, but actually the data shows that a vast majority of people here, are here directly from YouTube and not other places, so thatās great news.
My mission remains the same as ever: committed to getting rid of any negative or grey misconceptions about what I do, that what Iām doing is some kind of weird underground activity or 'fetish' and that going barefoot in nature, in mud and even poo, is so much fun and something anyone can and should try! Together, weāre going to make Care4Feet an awesome place!

Tis was the season
With cows heading in for the winter, this brings an end to this seasons ācow pooā videos. There might be some other places where cows may still roam about, but itās time call it a season.

This year, Iāve probably recorded more content than I have ever done in the history of the channel. This is fantastic, subscriber and view numbers have rocketed, we reached 1k subscribers and only you could have made this happen. For that reason Iām over the moon.
Looking ahead to the immediate future, videos will slow down over winter with no planned schedule, being that it's been quite regular recently. Donāt leave as there still might be the odd video now and again, but it is unlikely to be cow poo for a while yet.
But, there is something that needs to be addressed fairly quickly and that is the matter of archiving footage.
Puns aside, a 1-2 hour video is costing a good 15GB of storage for each video, thatās just 1080p at 60FPS. 10 videos of that size is 150GB, hence Iām very tight on storage options. Could you imagine what 4K60fps would be like?
At the moment, the process I work with is that the originals which have been edited and uploaded are deleted, so there are no originals on my camera or in my folders. I donāt have the space to be able to keep them.
I keep a copy of pre-uploaded edited videos, but that capacity is also very limited and will be full by next year. For this reason, Iām on a number of options. Download the uploads from YouTube and delete the ones Iām storing. Next is to take them back into the editor, process them at 1080p and have a larger video which takes up less space than lots of high quality ones.
So additional storage is probably another item on the shopping list for future upgrades on the channel, which goes without saying, Iām grateful to everyone who is currently supporting the channel and please feel free if you feel to join in that support. Donāt be put off by feeling that a little bit of support is too little.
Other than that, thank you all so much for everything achieved this year and I look forward to a new season of videos starting in spring next year.
