Especially during the winter we drivers need to keep at least 4 days of water and as many days shelf stable food in our trucks, extra blankets, and alternate heating methods on board.

No one would ever care about a professional driver as long as deliveries are made

Drivers need to be prepared for this I've been in this situation a couple of times. Make sure you keep extra food and water in the truck ice scrapers de-icing spray ice cleats couple pairs of gloves and I always keep my fuel tanks topped off so I don't run out of diesel when I'm parked for 2 or 3 days. I thought it was actually a little bit fun being snowed in like that.

I narrowly escaped this, I read the warnings and my clock reset just as it all started down heavy, Slow rolled from Buffalo on down to northern PA and knew I wasn't going to be stuck and that was a huge sigh of relief for me.

As a rule check the forecast before you haul loads.

I've cut New York out just like California. I understand closing roads in bad conditions but New York went too far with it. To make matters worse these idiot politicians are wanting to lower the standards to even get a CDL

Sadly those drivers sacrifice and drove. They won't get paid for the days they drive even though they are on company time. Truck life sucks
