I am from India and was actually going through the events of Dakota war. Found your programme extremely informative. Especially the deatils regarding the Hutchison Stockade

I live out in Lamson, which was ghost town-ed by the 1917 flue pandemic. This is the local Trail of Tears area.

That trail is right behind my dumpster. Sometimes I walk east and sometimes west. It's a beautiful walk. I used to walk 6 miles out and 6 miles back. At 71 my hips can't manage it anymore but I can do 6-8 miles. I always light a big fat cigar for the walk.

This uprising led to a stockade built in Superior, Wisconsin, which was established in 1854. There was never a battle there, however. The fear was pervasive in the city.

My grandfather put my grandmother and their children in The stockade. As he had to fight. His name was Daniel Cross he is the one that went to check on Mr Sanborn who had been murdered and my grandfather had been ambushed and was killed.
