Everything said by all the commentators about Alex Eala in this clip is true - her tenacity, her variety of shots, her quickness, etc. But what is not said as much as they should are her personality, her calm, her humility, her kindness to the fans, her intelligence in interviews, her lack of arrogance, her pride in her own nation, her respect to her playing colleagues, her sweet and open demeanor. To me, these are far more attractive and make me drawn to Eala more so than any specific victory or trophy.

I only started watching tennis because of Alex Eala, and watching her play fills me with so much joy.

It's uncommon seeing a Filipino in the world tennis stage. This is the only athlete that made me shed tears most of the time.

She projects not only her strength to play.. But her "character" Simple, grateful, down to earth and became a darling of the tennis world.
