@bomberhayley the Concorde, as well the SR and SST, were designed to supercruise, and ONLY supercruise. Modern fighter aircraft are designed for tight maneuvering, caring their weight in munitions, AND fly supersonically. Supercruise in itself is not hard to develop... an efficient airframe and some powerful turbojets (or fans). Developing a multi-role aircraft to supercruise is something else. It's like designing a Ferrari to go off road. If it's good at one thing, it can't be at the other.

@warthogfixr, now ive heard but dont know for sure, that it was given that designation so pilots would want to fly it. and thats not the first plane that has had the wrong designation, the F-105 or 110 thunderchief was a bomber that had the F designation

@geterdonein01 F-14 was a navy plane and they can fly above the sound barrier out on the ocean. They cannot do that at air shows.

The Raptor is an AWESOME plane. Imagine a good 1 on 1 dogfight between and Eagle and a Raptor. Both are amazing planes and very maneuverable. The Raptor has better maneuverability but it all comes down to who's at the controls.

it seems to have been forgotten but the eurofighter typhoon can super cruize plus it has the ability to super manouver not even the f-22 can do 9g turns at supersonic speeds like the typhoon and any good fighter pilot will tell you if you slow down in a fight youll lose and you slow down big time when you use vectored thrust

What an awesome plane. It sounds angry. If they have one of these beasts at the air show in Rockford or the one in Janesville this summer, I will be there in person.
