Darryl Keith Ford 2nd Channel - DarrylFord051 On This Day: 9 Years Ago on October 17th, 2017 | WWE 2K18 Was Released! On this day in gaming history, WWE 2K18 was released for PC (Windows), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, marking another chapter in the WWE 2K video game franchise! WWE 2K18 became the first mainline entry in the series to be released exclusively on eighth-generation hardware and the first to launch on PC and consoles simultaneously. Nintendo Switch Release The Nintendo Switch version followed on December 6th, 2017, making WWE 2K18 the only entry in the series released for the original Switch. It was also the first WWE game released on a Nintendo platform since WWE '13. Excluding WWE 2K Battlegrounds, released in 2020, WWE 2K18 would be the last WWE game to arrive on a Nintendo platform until WWE 2K25 launched on the Nintendo Switch 2 in July 2025. Reception and Performance WWE 2K18 received mixed or average reviews on Metacritic. However, the Nintendo Switch version faced particularly unfavorable reviews due to significant technical issues, glitches, and performance problems, which inspired numerous glitch compilations on YouTube. Interestingly, after the Nintendo Switch 2 launched, several outlets reported that WWE 2K18 ran significantly better on the newer hardware, with performance much closer to that of the other versions. What's your favorite memory of WWE 2K18? Did you play it on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, or Nintendo Switch? And how would you rank it among the WWE 2K games you've played? Darryl Keith Ford 2nd Channel - DarrylFord051 On This Day: 27 Years Ago on October 17th, 1999 | WWE/F presented No Mercy! On this day in wrestling history, the World Wrestling Federation presented No Mercy at the Gund Arena in Cleveland, Ohio, on October 17th, 1999. Originally established as a UK-exclusive event in May 1999, No Mercy moved to the United States in October, eventually becoming WWE's annual October pay-per-view through 2008. The event featured nine matches, including three championship bouts and several memorable moments in WWF history! Notable Moments: - The Fabulous Moolah defeated Ivory to win the WWF Women's Championship, becoming the oldest champion in professional wrestling history at the time. - Chyna defeated Jeff Jarrett to capture the WWF Intercontinental Championship, becoming the only woman in WWF/WWE history to hold the men's Intercontinental Championship. - Triple H defeated "Stone Cold" Steve Austin to retain the WWF Championship. - The New Brood (Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy) defeated Edge and Christian in a highly praised tag team ladder match. - The event marked Jeff Jarrett's final appearance with the promotion until his return in 2019. No Mercy received generally positive reviews, with both SLAM! Wrestling and 411Mania rating the event 8 out of 10. The tag team ladder match was particularly praised by critics. I went to a WWE show live in person on RAW when this was The Rock's theme at the time in 2003 and this is exactly what it sounded like in the arena.
X_C_A_L__ (5 years ago)
This is The Rock's best theme to me. When you hear just the intro alone, you know you're about to go one on one with The Great One. Jim Johnston knew how to put it together. Masterful.

God bless Jim Johnston. The man makes masterpieces.

fbfanatic82 (5 years ago)
I listen to this at least 3-4 times a day..... goosebumps
REPPIN4U (2 years ago)
I hope that at big BIG WrestleMania XL The Rock takes approximately 5 minutes and 25 seconds to walk down the WMXL ramp to this music....because at 3:53 this theme goes to FINAL BOSS level and you don't get to hear it on TV/arena
genestepney (6 years ago (edited))
This is the greatest version.
TerranceFost_drop1 (2 years ago)

The bass drop after the "is cooking" line sounds amazing on my big blue tooth speaker
TheK1llerRabb1t (3 years ago)
I can still see the helicopter over the night skyline, No Way Out versus Hulk Hogan. No one knew who this was until that “is cookin” and the entire arena lit up. By far the best version of Rocks entrance music
TheSheriffofPaddys (4 years ago)
Jim Johnston will never be topped!
SpicyLeMonss (2 years ago)
Now Rock just needs to use this full version at WM 40. Ngl the current electrifying theme with the short transition to this theme was executed well
