Amy handled this interview with the skill of a seasoned talk show host and the empathy of a great grandmother whose lived through 3 wars.

“At all times there’s a giant ocean of just awfulness that’s right there and I can see it. And sometimes I just want to dive into and just be in it and sometimes I try to get away from it, but it’s just always there.” That’s such an accurate depiction of grief. I appreciate her vulnerability and love seeing her laugh and just hang out with a good friend right now.

The complete 180 pivot from a heavy description of true grief to Rhiannas eyes being on the side of her head like a horse was truly brilliant.

The way Amy was the best in approaching Aubrey’s grief and where she is at right now, and also bringing levity and humor with respect. Class act! That is a friend.

Love that Amy ripped the bandaid right at the start so Aubrey didn’t have to spend the rest of the hour dreading when Amy was gonna bring up the elephant in the room.

the power of dogs and their role in therapy is soooo powerful in this interview. the SECOND she started speaking about her trauma she started petting her baby and that dog was right there for her. such a beautiful moment. and great interview. thanks for all of this.

Leaving the suicide hotline at the end of the episode was such a thoughtful touch. Amy, you are one of the greatest joys in the public eye right now and it is insanely refreshing to see. This episode was incredible, and Aubrey has stayed so strong through an unimaginable tragedy. Amy, I thank you

Amy is so protective of Aubrey and clearly loves her so much. I’m so glad she could give Aubrey some space to come back into the public eye on her own terms.

I’ve never seen an interview with Aubrey Plaza like this one. I feel like we are seeing the real Aubrey, and I love it. I’m here for it. I’m grateful for it. What a great, unique, one of a kind soul.

17:34 I will never not laugh at her sound engineers just constantly losing it at everything Amy and her guests ever say. Like they have the best job ever. They just get to laugh all day.

I'm gonna channel Chris Traeger and say that I literally think Amy is the only one that could have done that interview, touching on such a sore subject, and yet have the overall feeling of the podcast be full of laughter, light, fun and happiness. Thanks for having Aubrey on, so we could see her, and see how she was. I loved every minute, wish it had been 2 hours long.

"the gorge" was a shockingly great analogy for grief. but i hope she realizes that if you stare across the gorge, like the movie, there is always someone who wants to help. i truly hope she's surrounded by amazing people at this time.
